What are Neuromodulators/ Botox used for?

Botox and other neuromodulators are injectable products that have been ‘Health Canada approved’ for cosmetic use since 2002. Its most common use is for reducing appearance of wrinkles and unwanted lines on your skin. The active ingredient in Botox is a purified protein trusted by the medical community to temporarily block nerve signals, preventing excessive muscle movements which cause wrinkles to show.  Botox is most commonly used to treat the forehead, vertical lines (angry 11’s) and the lines around the eyes, or crow’s feet.

Treatment will provide approximately six months of decreased sweating after which time the procedure will need to be repeated.
