Thread Face Lifts

  • Avoid pressure on the treated areas and sleep on your back for the first week

  • Apply SPF 30 and avoid direct sunlight and tanning machines to prevent Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH)

  • You can gently wash the treated areas starting on the same day but do not rub or massage the face for two weeks. Normal skin care routine can be started the following day

  • Do not open mouth too wide or make exaggerated facial expressions for 3 to 4 weeks (avoid dental treatment for two weeks if possible)

  • Avoid chewing hard or sticky food

  • A stinging or “pulling pain” or discomfort is normal. Take Tylenol 500 mg 1 to 2 tablets every six hours as needed. This will subside over a two-week period. Scratchy sensation is normal; this will subside over a two-week period. It may last up to five weeks

  • Bruising can vary and can last up to two weeks

  • Avoid NSAIDS (inflammation is necessary to initiate the new collagen formation process) for the first 7 days

  • Avoid blood thinning vitamins C, A and E for 7 days

  • Avoid temperature extremes such hot tubs or saunas and very cold climates for 10 days

  • Avoid physical exercise for seven days post procedure

  • Taping/applying dressing may help prevent undoing of the lift until some fibrosis occurs

  • Avoid having Radio Frequency (RF) or any heat producing device (laser, IPL, etc.) treatments of the thread treated areas for at least 10 weeks

  • PRP, Micropen and dermal fillers can be used after 14 days
